When Will My Package Ship? Processing Times, Courier Options & Holiday Delays
Know what to expect with ShipByMail’s streamlined shipping process
Waiting for your package to ship? You’re not alone. At ShipByMail, one of the most common questions we get is: “When will my package ship?” Whether you’re planning ahead for a special event or managing a business, understanding our processing times, courier options, and holiday delays can help you avoid surprises and make better shipping decisions.
In this guide, we’ll explain:
- How long it takes for packages to be processed
- What courier options are available
- What to expect during holidays
- Tips to avoid delays
How Long Does Processing Take?
Once your package arrives at our ShipByMail warehouse in Canada, our team gets to work.
Processing usually takes 1–2 business days. This includes:
- Scanning your package
- Uploading photos
- Notifying you via email that your item is ready to ship
Once this is done, you can log into your dashboard, choose your preferred shipping method, and complete payment.
📦 Tip: Packages received over the weekend or during Canadian holidays will be processed on the next business day.
Shipping Options Available
We work with multiple courier partners to give you flexibility in cost and speed. Here’s a breakdown of our main options:
Courier Type | Delivery Time | Best For |
---|---|---|
Postal Economy | 14–30 business days | Lowest cost, not time-sensitive |
Courier Economy | 4–8 business days | Budget-friendly with tracking |
Postal Express | 3–7 business days | Faster delivery, post office delivery |
Courier Express | 3–5 business days | Fastest and most reliable |
💡 Only postal options ship to P.O. boxes. Couriers like DHL and UPS require physical addresses.

Holiday Shipping Delays to Watch For
During busy seasons, especially November to January, expect slight delays in both processing and delivery.
Common holidays that may affect timelines:
- Christmas & Boxing Day (Dec 25–26)
- New Year’s Day (Jan 1)
- Canada Day (July 1)
- Thanksgiving (2nd Monday of October)
Our warehouses are closed on these statutory holidays, and courier networks may experience backups.
🧠 Smart Tips to Beat the Holiday Rush:
- Ship early—don’t wait until mid-December
- Use Express shipping if you’re on a deadline
- Consolidate packages to save time and money
What If My Package Still Hasn’t Shipped?
If you haven’t received an email after 2 business days:
- Double-check your dashboard to see if your item arrived
- Confirm that the item was addressed correctly to your ShipByMail suite number
- Contact our support team via help ticket if needed
We can’t provide a final shipping quote or release your package until it has arrived at our facility and been processed.
